Al-Anzi made the remark in a meeting with Governor General of Iran’s Isfahan Province Reza Mortazavi in the provincial capital, Isfahan, on Wednesday.
The Saudi envoy noted that Tehran-Riyadh ties are growing as a result of the strong determination of the leaders of both countries.
He also called for continued negotiations between the two sides on existing challenges, arguing that Iran and Saudi Arabia enjoy numerous commonalities and joint values.
Ties between the two countries will also strengthen the sovereignty of the West Asia region and the Islamic world, he added.
The Islamic and geographical position of Iran and its global influence are valuable, the Saudi envoy said, adding that those features would also help promote cooperation between Tehran and Riyadh based on mutual respect.
Isfahan’s governor general Mortazavi, for his part, said that the Islamic Republic considers Saudi Arabia as one of the greatest Muslim nations, and believes that deeper relations among Islamic nations will lead to greater success.
He added that Isfahan can play a role in enhancing ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as the city enjoys economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific, technological, and cultural capacities, among others.
